HOW TO ORDER OUR BEEF
Purchasing/Butchering
Beef is sold in sections of 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, or the whole damn cow! Prices are based on the hanging carcass weight of the animal and include cutting, wrapping and freezing of the meat. The beef is aged a minimum of 14 days prior to cutting. The average hanging weight of our cattle is 275– 300lbs for a half and 125-150lbs for quarter.
After cutting the average butchered weight of our beef sections approximately yields the following (amounts vary on size of cow and type of cuts).
Approximate Yield:
- 1/8 = 45lbs
- 1/4 = 90lbs
- 1/2 (side) = 150lbs
- Whole = 300lbs
For either a half or a whole beef you can specify how you would like it cut.
Hamburger or ground beef is available to be purchased separately by the pound (min 10lb order). Just specify how many lb packages you would like.
Beef Pricing
Prices listed are estimates based on the average hanging weights of our cattle at 16-18 months of age when they are butchered. The second payment amount will vary slightly from listed prices as it depends on the actual hanging weight of section of the cow being purchased.
Grass Fed and Grass Finished Beef
- 1/8 = $360
- 1/4 = $720
- 1/2 (side) = $1,200
- Whole = $2,400
- Lean ground beef Burger = $7/lb (packaged in 1lb packages, minimum order 10 packs)
- Soup bones 3.5-4lbs = $15
We butcher in the fall each year so orders must be in by September 1 each year.
Delivery will be in late October/early November. 50% deposit of listed price required at time of placing order. Remainder due at delivery. Buyers will be contacted 1 week prior to delivery to arrange pickup time and location in Prince George.

What Do I Get?
If ordering the whole cow or a half (side) a beef you can specify what you would like the cuts to be. For 1/8 or 1/4 of beef you will receive a selection of different cuts from both the front and hind quarter.
A typical 1/4 cut of beef is:
- 6 x T-bone steak packages (2 steaks per pack, 3-4 lbs)
- 6 x Rib steak packages (2 steaks per pack, 3-4lbs)
- 6 x Sirloin steaks (2 steaks per pack, 3-4lbs)
- 15-20 1lb packages of lean ground beef
- 4 x 1.5lb packs of stew meat
- Blade roast (3-4lbs)
- Inside round roast (3-4lbs)
- Outside round roast (3-4lbs)
- Sirloin tip roast (3-4lbs)
- Short ribs
Quarters are sold as mixed quarters where the buyer receives ½ of the front quarter and ½ of the hind quarter cuts. 1/8’s are about half the quantity of a quarter and contain a similar selection of cuts.
How many head of cattle are butchered or sold for meat orders?
60 cow/calf pairs. Orders in by September each year.
What deposit do you want for order?
50% deposit of on order. 50% on pickup/delivery
Is your beef natural, steroid free, hormone free, antibiotic free?
No steroids or growth hormones, but we do use antibiotics to treat animals if it becomes sick. As a good practice we double the antibiotic withdraw time before butchering the animal.
How much per pound?
See above for how meat is butchered and weighed. Cost is $8 per pound. $7 per pound for ground beef with a 10lb minimum order.
Do you take orders and fill all the time or just once a season?
Once a season. We have an annual deadline that orders have to be in by September each year.
Is it pickup or delivery or depends on size of order?
Pickup at central location in Prince George. We accept regional/local orders only. Will contact buyers with date 1 week ahead of pickup.
What type of beef cattle do you have?
Predominantly Red and black angus cross with some Hereford angus cross cattle.
Are they processed, butchered locally?
Yes, at government licensed and inspected facilities.
